Our Sterilization Practices Rival The Operating Room
Our sterilization process starts at the top with a comprehensive program that ensures every instrument is cleaned, bagged, sealed and sterilized properly in our steam autoclave. We have a no instrument gets left behind philosophy. We follow the CDC methods on cleaning and wrapping instruments, loading the sterilizer, operating the sterilizer and following strict monitoring to ensure the sterilizer is working properly. In 7 years we have never failed a single sterilizer test!
When possible we always use plastic barriers on surfaces that our providers may touch during the procedure. For example the light handle and the drawer handles. This ensures that when new barriers are applied they are in fact clean and sterile.
Packaging the Dental Instruments
Once cleaned, dried and verified by our trusty assistants, the dental instruments are then packaged sealed and ready for the heat! Our dental packages are then loaded into the steam autoclave to allow all the steam to penetrate the instruments. These sterilization practices are fully approved by the CDC. We only open the packages once our patients are seated in the chair and you visually see us open them.
